There is something very special about the Isfjorden at night. The city has calmed down, today's traffic on the water has subsided, and all that remains is the silence, the ice and the soft, golden light hanging over Disko Bay. This is where Ilulissat shows himself from his most evocative side.

In August, the sun is low in the sky late at night, and the light becomes softer and warmer than you know it from high summer. The icebergs change color as we sail. The white ice takes on shades of golden, pink and blue, and the huge icebergs cast long shadows over the glossy water. For those who love to photograph, it is difficult to imagine better conditions.

The ice fjord almost to yourself

Late summer is a quieter time in Ilulissat, and a late-night boat trip allows you to experience the ice fjord without the hustle and bustle. The icebergs are still just as magnificent, but the mood is different: quiet, pensive and almost solemn. Many of our guests describe the midnight tour as their strongest experience in Greenland.
