Day Trip to Oqaatsut

Take a day trip to Oqaatsut, a small and charming village north of Ilulissat. We sail along the coast past icebergs and mountain scenery, and along the way you can enjoy the view from the deck or warm yourself in the heated cabin of the boat.

When we dock, a completely different Greenland awaits you than in the city: small colorful houses, sled dogs, fishing boats and a tranquility rarely found anywhere else. Oqaatsut is also known as Rodebay, a name derived from the Dutch whalers who lived here hundreds of years ago.

Sail or wander back

You will have about 1½ hours in the village to explore, experience everyday life and enjoy the view of Disko Bay before the boat sails back to Ilulissat.

If you want to stretch your legs, you can instead choose to hike back to Ilulissat. The route passes through the open mountain landscape and is a great way to experience nature up close, at your own pace and with Disko Bay by your side.
